Some Things to Consider

Real Life Questions:
The Things That Matter Most

Are you allowing the Lord to dictate your life? Or is your life completely dictated by the world?

Too often we allow ourselves to be so occupied by the things of the world that we kick things of eternal importance out of our priorities altogether. If we are "too busy" to read scriptures, say prayers, attend the church or temple, we should consider who is dictating our schedule.

Do you find joy in doing Holy things?

How many of us feel genuine excitement at the thought of going to the temple, reading our scriptures or going to church? A desire to do holy things can be attained through prayerful seeking. So start your seeking today!

Are you being true to your name?

Many have come before you to prepare a path for you to live on this earth. Are you being true to that heritage? Would your ancestors be proud to see what you are doing with the family name?

Are you being true to your current/future wife and kids?

Just think about it.

Would your behavior have changed today if Christ spent the day by your side?

Christ is the only perfect being to have graced this earth. We ought to live our lives as if he were walking beside us.

Are you able to recognize the hand of God in your life?

The hand of God is guiding your life. If you aren't able to point it out yet, take a moment at the end of each day to ponder and ask God to open up your eyes. Make a note to write about his hand each day in your journal. This will change your outlook on life.

Are you listening to and following the promptings of the spirit?

If you are not yet fluent in the language of the spirit, then there is still improvement to be made. It is through the spirit that God communicates with us.

These are just some questions that I found myself asking during Church today. This life is about progression and I believe that inspired questions can help us recognize what we are lacking in our lives. Following the example of Christ is made easy when we look for his footprints. God guides us through scriptures, prayer, fasting, friends, family, and through church and temple attendance. If we are looking for him, we will find him.
